Wine Tasting Set Up

Great Wine Tasting Set Up Hints For A Successful Party!

Your wine tasting party will be a success if you relax and enjoy your guests. The list of set up hints and additional information will almost guarantee you will have a great party that all your guests will enjoy.

Everyone is Not Into Wine

Wine tasting set up preparation is important to the success of your theme party. It may seem daunting, but it is really just a simple plan to accommodate everyone you have invited.

Listed below are some ideas and tips you might not thought of when you planned your party. Don't worry, this list will help you be at the ready for everyone, and you will enjoy your party.

  • Not everyone is into wine and there are some who do not drink alcohol. This is perfectly fine. Just don't get too technical, and everyone will be relaxed and have fun with you.
  • Offer paper and pens and encourage those who are interested to take notes. This will provoke more interaction among the group and it will also help everyone to focus on the aroma, flavor and characteristics of each wine.
  • Serve white wines first and then the red wines starting with the lighter reds and serve the bolder reds last.
  • Place buckets around for "spitting" out the unwanted wine. Try to encourage this, since sometimes we are embarrassed to say we don't want to finish the wine if we don't like it. At a wine tasting, "spitting" out the wine is normal practice.
  • Place pitchers of water or bottled water for everyone to cleanse their palate, and also for rinsing the glasses between wines.
  • Encourage those who want to speak up to do so. Compare notes and have fun.
  • Do respect each others' opinions.
"TIP"
Pour one ounce of wine into each glass for tasting.
