Some of My Favorite Things

We all surf the net and have searched for recipes. Thousands of sites come up and you can spend a lot of time looking for one that will suit your needs. Granted, we all have different likes and preferences but I think that these recommendations are worth your time to visit.

Shrimp Magic

There are many, many recipe sites and they are all unique in their own right, but I really like Shrimp Magic. Not only are there terrific shrimp recipes, but there is also information for buying, preparing and cooking shrimp. With all that information you will be able to prepare a terrific shrimp meal with ease.

I have already tried a few recipes and I was not disappointed. The instructions and directions were very helpful, making the recipe easy to prepare and the final results were delicious.

Visit Shrimp Magic and try one of the recipes. You will be glad you did.

Your Restaurant Reviews

Here are some restaurant reviews shared by our visitors. If you are going to these cities I hope you will have an opportunity to visit these favorites.

New York

One if By Land, Two if By Sea -- Yes, that is the name of this very romantic restaurant in New York City's West Village area. We were visiting New York City for business and a colleague suggested this restaurant located in an historic townhouse once owned by Aaron Burr, the third vice president of the Uni prix fixed menu. Everything was prepared to perfection. The Beef Wellington is one of the favorites and the wine list is perfectly matched to the menu selections.

This should be on the top of your list for your very special occasion, be it a birthday, anniversary, or that very special "pop the question" evening. You are guaranteed to be labeled "a romantic" by your dinner guest. Call to make your reservations well in advance, especially if it's a holiday season.

Chops City Grill
Naples, FL and Bonita Springs, FL

We recently dined at the well known Chops City Grill. This has long been known as the place to eat and be seen. The restaurant has hosted many top celebrities.

As for the food, it is excellent. I had the signature dish of Grouper with screaming hot rock shrimp sauce. The dish had sweet with hot spice flavors that really blended well. It is paired with mushroom risotto. Their steaks are dry aged prime beef. My guest had a NY Strip and it was very tasty and grilled to perfection, and it comes with your choice of side. Aside from great food and atmosphere Chops has a great wine list offering wines from various regions with a big emphasis on California.

So if you are visiting the Naples, Florida area you definitely want to make reservations at Chops and dine and been seen. -- Phone: (1)(239) 262-4677. $$$

The Turtle Club
Naples, FL

When vacationing in Florida beachfront dining is recommended if you are visiting the coastal areas.

On the Gulf Coast of Florida, The Turtle Club delivers life’s simple and forgotten pleasures -- beautiful gulf views, great service, excellent food. You may dine inside or outside.

Whether inside or outside you are sure to have a superb meal. A few of the highlights are steaks and chops and local seafood. They also have an extensive wine list where the staff is friendly and helpful. The Turtle Club recommends you make reservations in advance especially when the weather is just right for dining outside -- It's a favorite. 9225 Gulf Shore Dr., Naples, FL $$$

Did You Know?

Fresh Shrimp should be dry and firm to the touch. Don't buy the Shrimp if they are soft and a bit wet.
