Party Set Up
One of the advantages of a wine tasting party is that it is practical anytime of the year. For a bit of ambiance, you can set up a bar either indoors or outdoors if you have room. All you really need is a long table covered with a white tablecloth.
If the bar set up doesn't fit in your space, just set up the wine and the wine glasses on a buffet along with the food selection.

Invitations
If you have a computer and are comfortable using it, you can create your own invitations. To stay with the wine tasting theme create a wine label for the invitations.
There is an abundance of free wine-related clip art on the internet which you can download onto your computer and add it to the invitation. This will keep costs down.
The more creative you are the more obvious your theme will be. You can also add gift suggestions and slip it inside the invitation.
Wine Theme Bridal Decorations

Use traditional bridal shower decorations from a party store. You can then add artificial grapes and vines which can be purchased at a craft store. Strategically place the artificial grapes and vines on the tables along with fresh flower arrangements. To make unique floral arrangements tie four wine glasses together with ribbons and add the fresh flowers.
If the bride's wedding colors are complimentary to the wine theme you can use those colors. Otherwise, stay with bridal white as the color, including white tablecloths. White table covers are the best background to use when tasting wine.
If you stay with traditional bridal white you only need to use some green in the floral arrangements to add color. It is simple, elegant, and so easy.
In keeping with the wine theme hang the artificial grapes and vines from chandeliers and place some around the base of lamps. You can also decorate the walls with wine related posters.
Wine Related Favors
This item does not have to break your budget. You can give out custom wine glass charms which are inexpensive, or you can buy small bottles or half-bottles of wine or sparkling wine to give as favors. Some local wine shops carry splits or small bottles of wine or sparkling wine.
If they do not stock them, they may be able to order them for you. Or you can always order them on-line. If your guest list includes couples, you only need to order one favor per couple.
Here is a free download .pdf file for thank you tags that can be added to your favors. All you have to do is write the names of the couple on the card with a gold or silver glitter pen. The cards are formated to be printed on 3 1/2" x 2" business cards which can be purchased at any office supply store.
The After Party Desserts and Wine
After the fun of the wine tasting session, you can serve coffee and tea with the celebration cake and other desserts. This is always the favorite part of any party.
